It can be difficult to identify the type of drawer runners you need to replace or renew for an existing drawer box.

However, identifying a few key features can simplify the selection process and narrow down to the correct range.

Here are a few brief pointers to the most common runners that customers regularly require - either to replace or to use for new units.

1. Narrow Metal Ball Bearing Drawer Runners

2. Roller Drawer Runners

White roller runners (with nylon wheels) that are mounted at the bottom of the drawer box (only partial extension) - light to medium duty, made from steel. (Other finishes are available):

3. Soft-Closing/-close Drawer Runners

Soft-Closing drawer runners have become much more popular in the last few years - these will automatically draw the runner to a closed position softly without the need to push all the way. These will come in various forms:

a) Under-mounted  (mostly concealed fitting under the drawer box)

4. Touch Release or Push-to-open Drawer Runners

Once closed, they just need a gentle push to release and start to open out.

5. Ball bearing full extension steel runners

These are for heavier drawer boxes, band will start at 45kg capacity per pair, they are typically for understair/underbed drawers, but can be used in any room as long as the drawer sides are high enough.
